The Custom ISO 9001 Auditor Training is designed for organizations that want to develop a competent audit team with company-specific skills to maximize the value of their internal audit program.

This course equips newly assigned auditors within your company with the necessary certification, knowledge, and skills to perform internal audits. The combination of tailor-made content and hands-on, guided auditing activities is particularly effective in developing practical skillsets required to conduct value-added audits.

Participants will have the opportunity to apply their newfound skills in a series of authentic, supervised auditing exercises at your company. To get the maximum benefit from the practice audits, it is recommended that your ISO 9001 system is fully implemented. However, if the course is scheduled earlier during the ISO implementation process, the practice audits can be used to support your implementation efforts.

Course Content

The course combines lectures, discussions, and role plays with guided, hands-on auditing exercises of actual processes at your company. The course covers the following topics:

The ISO 9001 standard from the auditor's perspective

Interpretation of the ISO 9001:2015 requirements and indicators for compliance in the context of your company

Roles and responsibilities of staff involved in the audit process

Audit planning

Auditing tools and techniques

Audit reporting and recording of nonconformities

Follow-up activities and verification of corrective action

Supervised auditing exercises to develop auditing skills in real-life settings at your company

Examination and Certification

After completing the course and receiving their Certificate of Attendance (proof of training), participants have the opportunity to take the Auditor Exam free of charge. Upon passing the exam with a score of 70% or above, participants will receive the Auditor Certification, as evidenced by our Certificate of Attainment.

The optional assessment is computer-based and in multiple-choice format, with no time limit and the ability to retake it unlimited times without charge.

Hands-On Training

The course is based on a "learning by doing" approach, utilizing exercises and activities to build real skills and create the most effective learning experience.

Live Audit Exercises
During the Live Audit Exercises, participants will develop the practical skillset necessary to conduct value-added audits. Our instructors will supervise and guide your auditors-in-training as they practice their skills directly at your organizational processes.

Other Activities
Participants will also engage in additional skill-building exercises, including interpretation of requirements, document review, checklist preparation, corrective action, and full audit role-play exercises.

Schedule and Start

To make the most of this course, it is recommended to schedule the internal auditor training after your entire ISO 9001 documentation has been developed. Remote training can be scheduled within 1 week of purchase, while on-site training requires at least 3 weeks advance notice.

Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of ISO 9001 required. To prepare for the course participants need to complete a set of exercises and familiarize themselves with the ISO 9001:2015 standard (and bring it to the course).

Facilities
For remote training, course participants need to be connected through video conferencing – either individually or in group settings. For on-site training, you need to provide a room with sufficient seating, a presentation screen and projector (with connection to a laptop), and refreshments.

Remote Training Option

We offer both on-site and remote options for this course, providing flexibility to meet your needs. If you're interested in the remote version, here's a breakdown of how it works.

The remote version of our course includes both lecture-type training and real-life audit exercises to develop your skills. While the content and learning objectives remain the same as the on-site version, participants have the opportunity to experience the instructor through video conferencing technology.

Don't worry, it's still a live training experience where you can interact with the instructor just like in a classroom setting. We ensure this through video conferencing capabilities, whether that's in a conference room equipped with the necessary technology or from the comfort of your own location using your computer or smartphone.

During the real-life audit exercises, participants are expected to visit different departments of their company as a team. One team member should have a mobile device with video communications software, and a laptop with screen-sharing capability would be ideal for practicing auditing electronic documentation.

To ensure a smooth experience, we will provide detailed explanations of the process, discuss the technologies involved, and test connections. Our current video conferencing platforms include MS Teams and Join.me, but we're also open to using the technologies already in use at your company.

Optional Exam and Certificate Options

Our Custom ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Training offers participants flexibility when it comes to exams and certificates. We provide two options:

Certificate of Attendance
After completing the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance without the need to take the final exam. This certificate fulfills the ISO 9001:2015 requirement for training records.

Certificate of Attainment
Participants who prefer to obtain ISO 9001 Auditor Certification can choose to take an online, multiple-choice exam. This certificate includes the prestigious Exemplar Global Competency Units QM and AU, serving as evidence of training and acquired competencies. It also allows learners to register as an Exemplar Global Certified Auditor. Both types of certificates include blockchain verification and can be digitally shared on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
Multiple Exam Attempts

Participants have the opportunity to take the optional final exam as often as needed to achieve a passing score (70%). The exam is free of charge, and after answering all the questions, participants will receive their final score along with a comprehensive review of the results.
Exemplar Global Competency Units

Exemplar Global Competency Units provide objective evidence of acquired competence, going beyond simply recording training attendance. These units are issued based on the results of a rigorous examination that meets the stringent requirements set by Exemplar Global. Only Exemplar Global Certified Training Providers and Examiners (TPECS), such as ourselves at 9001Simplified, are authorized to issue Exemplar Global Competency Units.

By earning Competency Units QM and AU, course participants gain internationally recognized evidence of competence in Quality Management (Exemplar Global QM) and Auditing Management Systems (Exemplar Global AU).
Onsite and Remote Learning Combination

Combining onsite and remote training is not recommended because remote training requires a different setup than simply filming an onsite course. Our lead auditor training is very hands-on, and the setup requirements for onsite and remote activities are different. By doing both kinds of training, the training delivery for both would be far from optimal.
