However, if you schedule the course earlier during your ISO implementation, the practice audits can be used to support your implementation efforts.

The course utilizes a combination of lectures, discussions, and role plays to engage participants, along with guided, hands-on auditing exercises of actual processes at your company. The course content includes the following topics:

Interpretation of the ISO 9001:2015 requirements and indicators for compliance in the context of your company

The roles and responsibilities of staff involved in the audit process

Lead Auditor Examination and Certification

After completing the course and receiving their Certificate of Attendance (evidence of training), participants have the opportunity to take the Lead Auditor Exam free of charge. Graduates who pass the exam will receive the Lead Auditor Certification, as evidenced by our Certificate of Attainment.

The optional exam is computer-based, in a multiple-choice format, and has a passing score of 70%. There is no time limit for the exam, and participants can retake it unlimited times without any additional charges.

Hands-On Training

Our Custom ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training follows a "learning by doing" approach. The course extensively utilizes exercises and activities to build real skills and deliver the most effective learning experience.

Live Audit Exercises
The training includes extensive live audit exercises where participants will develop practical skill sets required to conduct value-added audits. These live audit exercises are supervised and guided, taking place right at your organizational processes.

Other Activities
Participants will also engage in additional skill-building exercises, including interpretation of requirements, document review, checklist preparation, corrective action, and full audit role-play exercises.

Schedule and Start

To derive the maximum benefits from this course, it is recommended to schedule the lead auditor training after your entire ISO 9001 documentation has been developed. Remote training can be scheduled within 1 week of purchase, while on-site training requires at least 3 weeks' advance notice.

Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of ISO 9001 required. To prepare for the course, participants need to complete a set of exercises and familiarize themselves with the ISO 9001:2015 standard (and bring it to the course).

Facilities
For remote training, course participants need to be connected through video conferencing – either individually or in group settings. For on-site training, you need to provide a room with sufficient seating, a presentation screen and projector (with connection to a laptop), and refreshments.

Remote Training Option

The remote training experience is quite similar to the on-site version, except that participants receive instruction via video conferencing technology.

Despite being a live online course, participants have the same opportunities to interact with the instructor as if it was a classroom setting. In addition, participants could choose to take the training together in a conference room with video conferencing capabilities or connect from any remote location via their own device.

During the real-life audit exercises, participants will be expected to work as a team and visit various departments of their company. One team member is required to carry a mobile device with video communication technology and use a laptop for auditing electronic documentation.

We will prepare you thoroughly for this course, including explaining the process in detail, discussing relevant technologies, and testing connections. Although we currently use MS Teams and Join.me, we are also prepared to accommodate technologies that are already used in your company.

Our instructors have years of experience teaching this course remotely, and we encourage you to contact us with any concerns you may have about the online training experience.
Optional Exam and Certificate Options

Our Custom ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training offers participants flexibility when it comes to exams and certificates. We provide two options:

Certificate of Attendance
Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance after completing the course; no final exam is necessary. The certificate meets the ISO 9001:2015 requirement for training records.

Certificate of Attainment
Alternatively, participants can opt for an online multiple-choice exam and earn their ISO 9001 Auditor Certification, which includes the Exemplar Global Competency Units QM, AU, and TL. This credential serves as evidence that all related competencies have been achieved and enables the learner to register as an Exemplar Global Certified Lead Auditor, making it an excellent choice for participants who want to demonstrate internationally recognized competence in quality management, auditing management systems, and leading team audits.

Both certificates include blockchain verification and can be shared digitally on social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
Multiple Exam Attempts

To achieve a passing score of 70%, participants can take the optional final exam as many times as they need. The exam is free of charge, and after answering all the questions, participants will receive a comprehensive review of their results and their final score.
Exemplar Global Competency Units

Exemplar Global Competency Units provide objective evidence of acquired competence, not just attendance records. They are issued based on the results of an examination that meets the stringent standards set by Exemplar Global. Only Exemplar Global Certified Training Providers and Examiners, such as 9001Simplified, are authorized to issue these units.

This certification benefits course participants as it provides internationally recognized evidence of competence in Quality Management (Exemplar Global QM), Auditing Management Systems (Exemplar Global AU), and Leading Team Audits (Exemplar Global TL).
Onsite and Remote Learning Combination

Combining onsite and remote training is not recommended because remote training requires a different setup than simply filming an onsite course. Our lead auditor training is very hands-on, and the setup requirements for onsite and remote activities are different. By doing both kinds of training, the training delivery for both would be far from optimal.
Support for ISO 9001 Implementation

Not only does the Custom ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training offer internal and lead auditors hands-on training specifically tailored to fit their organization, but it can also support your company's ISO 9001 implementation efforts. The real-life audit exercises will help participants practice auditing skills while also encouraging staff to adopt ISO processes. If requested, we can focus the audit exercises on specific areas of your organization.
Comparison with Custom ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Training

The lead auditor course and the internal auditor course share similarities, such as covering ISO 9001 requirements. However, the lead auditor course includes additional topics such as leading audits and a team of auditors. The lead auditor course allows for sufficient time to discuss ISO 9001 requirements in the context of your organization and provides more opportunities to develop auditing skills in real-life exercises at your company. The lead auditor course is the better choice if scheduling and budget allow for it and will generate the best and most value-adding auditors.
