The Gap Analysis & Implementation Plan is ideal for small and medium sized organizations worldwide seeking faster and smoother ISO 9001 certification by jump-starting the implementation with a no-nonsense, effective and actionable implementation plan.
This professional consulting service, in combination with our Do-It-Yourself Certification Toolkit, creates a hybrid implementation approach that gets you over the initial hurdle, kick-starts the implementation, and sets you up for success.
Our consultant will not only issue a comprehensive action plan but also work directly with your ISO 9001 implementation manager / team, and inform top management of the scope of implementation.
Depending on your company size, this service takes only 1 to 3 days to complete.
You will get a feasible and comprehensive roadmap to ISO 9001 certification based on our analysis of your company's processes. Our report also includes the tasks and activities that need to be completed, and the documentation required.
Our consultants get you started with your in-house ISO 9001 implementation using our Certification Toolkit (purchased separately). You just choose to have us conduct the service remotely or on-site. Either way, we'll typically proceed as follows:
Gap Analysis
We'll first gain an understanding of your company's activities and controls, and identify where your company is and isn't meeting ISO 9001 requirements.
As part of the analysis, our consultant will inspect business processes, review documentation, and interview management and employees.
Consulting
Next we'll impart a solid understanding of how best to apply ISO 9001 in your company.
After the gap analysis, our consultant will discuss options and offer solutions where processes do not currently exist.
This session will focus on the best use of your 9001Simplified documentation and how best to apply it as the solution system.
Presentation
Finally, we'll describe the documentation structure that's needed for your company, and explain the tasks and activities that need to be completed in order to set up your ISO system.
There will be a final presentation in which our consultant describes what gaps were found in your company and what steps need to be taken to get certified.
Senior management are encouraged to attend.
Note that some time is required to prepare for the presentation.
Reports and Plans
You will receive a detailed report containing a review of the gaps, plus a detailed project plan – your roadmap to ISO 9001 certification.
Note that some time is required to prepare the report.
Staff responsible for the implementation are expected to work with our consultant and join all activities.
You need to have our ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit before using this service.
Staff responsible for ISO 9001 implementation will need to have familiarized themselves with the Certification Toolkit and the ISO 9001:2015 standard (which they should have on hand) as preparation for the consulting session.
The best timing for consultancy services is... anytime you need professional assistance. Remote consultancy can be scheduled as early as 1 week from the date of purchase. For on-site consulting we need at least 3 weeks advance notice.
Just enter your preferred starting date at the time of purchase, and we'll contact you to confirm it or to agree on another mutually convenient schedule.
In the unlikely event that we can't agree on a date, we'll promptly issue a full refund.
There will also be some communication prior to the consultancy to discuss your needs and help our consulting team to prepare.
Preparation instructions and any additional materials will be sent in advance.
After carefully analyzing your company's processes and activities, our consultant will give you a project plan detailing everything your company needs to do to implement ISO 9001 and get certified.

What's included
Complete ISO 9001 gap analysis conducted remotely or on-site, copies of all presentations, and a detailed report.
Travel, accommodation and dining expenses are included if you hire our consultant to work with you on-site.
Prerequisites
The client must own the ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit.
Prior to this service, implementation team members need to familiarize themselves with the ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit and the ISO 9001:2015 standard (and have it at hand during consultancy).
Duration
Depending on your company's size, our consultant will need 1-3 days.
Facilities
For remote consulting, participants will need to be connected through video conferencing.
To allow our consultant to virtually visit work areas, you need to prepare a mobile device with video conferencing capabilities.
Also, our consultant will need full access to your company's processes, along with the opportunity to meet executive staff, department managers and employees.
I see you also offer a remote version of this service. How does this work?
No matter if performed on-site or remotely, this service is equally effective. To achieve this, the consultant requires a member of the ISO 9001 implementation team with a smartphone to serve as the consultant's virtual eyes, ears and mouth during the gap analysis. We also leverage Microsoft Teams (or similar) with screen and file sharing features. If you want to find out in detail how we do it and how we ensure confidentiality and data security, read our short article on successful remote auditing (which is done similar to the gap analysis).
Our consultants have several years experience in successfully conducting a remote gap analysis. If you are concerned about certain aspects, feel free to contact us.
What hours will the consultant be working with us?
We will work with you during your normal business hours and for the duration of a normal workday (approximately 8-9 hours).
I intend to use the ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit. Do I need to buy this service too?
No, the Gap Analysis & Implementation Plan service is optional. The ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit contains the tools needed to perform the gap analysis and implementation planning in-house.
However, this service can add value in many situations. For example, if you need a kick-start, if you want the insights of an experienced consultant, if you prefer a professional to develop an ISO implementation plan tailored to your company's needs, and many more.
Why is the ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit a prerequisite for this service?
A custom implementation plan will serve your organization best when you also have the right tools to execute the plan. The ISO 9001 Certification Toolkit includes all the tools needed to succeed. Our consultants are intimately familiar with our toolkit and won't require additional time to familiarize themselves with other kits or approaches.
However, if you are only interested in a professional gap analysis, conducted by an experienced consultant, we can to do this as part of our ISO 9001 Consulting Service.
